Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27979718962_o nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27467437473_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-4-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842555_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-17_26168049530_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-359_22756309601_o gibraltar-est-trufado-de-recuerdos-del-gran-asedio-que-sufri-a-finales-del-siglo-xviii-por-tropas-espaolas-y-francesas_22713788896_o COLA GIBRALTAR cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-24_20095125091_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_8826_20147089721_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii34_21206095472_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-63_29439806445_o img_2695_30623754807_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002396678_o img_0802_21597290925_o img_5158_48919069453_o img_0152_43064730254_o img_1661_30765329108_o 2g9a4511_48714141591_o img_0520_36599990166_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-131_37830965464_o dementia-day-centre-panorama3_32228020981_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-165_24674703738_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-13_30801729144_o img_3841_36349068983_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-12_30578376000_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565260475_o 108918_29207861510_o img_9583_26532996406_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866074873_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24180732436_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-29bn_21050814980_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-65bn_21246905561_o 2g9a2050_27172744801_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
