160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22744606985_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-51_26374637391_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. inmaculada-fotos-23112014-07_16093424945_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22697068194_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar17_10382652953_o img_8822_20115286646_o MM180007 regiment-freedom-of-city-0193_15253201129_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201422_15437616718_o 2g9a0735_48806099676_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-10_9224812532_o 1_img_0079_42877265175_o 180731 - Visita a la nueva central eléctrica y planta de GNL img_5742_49086658957_o img_5752_49085935083_o bl1605-1_green_surbico-2_48826661046_o P1080613 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-32 img_5169_48919069403_o 2g9a6690_48204068216_o img_1038_36599993796_o 2g9a0669_48919068688_o 2g9a5359_30961818615_o national-day-panorama2_48714140956_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-89_30962795485_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-2_38627527620_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-50_30661220440_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354066633_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834022325_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_31991159980_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417178195_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-49 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26586169962_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
