A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-12_19901671600_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696873034_o img_0051_43202819314_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez24_12102517626_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9703114360_o img_0650_21585515842_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-2_19544442156_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_25964216631_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16200775047_o img_4107_21472825011_o 7u3a9607_49900298183_o beaches-1_25762193678_o Monos-31 main-street-19_25762192498_o Alameda-22 cof img_7980_42790065500_o img_7268_34736876056_o 2g9a9400_32308846396_o img_0447_36479606205_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-4_31527599701_o img_0658_36082750110_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-99_29524281861_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-29_30282254884_o 95963_28871954004_o img_5115_29445244416_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27319188052_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-93 000-a-dsc_6081_19250262519_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
